Fire Alarm

The hotels fire alarm system falls under category L1, which is designed for the protection of life and which has automatic detectors installed throughout all areas of the building (including roof spaces and voids) with the aim of providing the earliest possible warning. In addition, the hotel has a sprinkler system throughout the whole hotel.

A two-staged detection system is operated. If a fire detector is activated, then the system will go into pre-alarm allowing for the hotels fire team to seek and search for a fire within 300 seconds. The pre-alarm is not audible to guests.  If there is no fire, then the pre-alarm will be cancelled, but if a fire is found then the hotel will be evacuated. If two fire detectors are activated, then the system will automatically sound the full alarms.   The full alarm is a continuous sounding alarm.

The fire alarm is tested on a weekly basis, usually on Monday mornings at 0830hrs.  All employees, guests, visitors and delegates are informed of when the weekly fire alarm test will be via boards in the reception area and lifts.

On sound of the continuous alarm, evacuate using the nearest exit indicated by the green fire safety signs. The fire assembly point is located on car park 1 (opposite the main reception).

Your Event Relations Manager will be happy to brief your event on Fire Safety.
